Dry Creek Vineyard Blending Education Class

Des Moines Golf & Country Club

Become a Winemaker for one day!

Please join WineStyles and special guest, Matt McCormack from Dry Creek Vineyard, for a fun and educational evening at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club that will include heavy appetizers.

This exciting event will allow you to become a Winemaker for one day, as Matt will help teach the technique of blending different grape varietals into one bottle of wine. For this class, you will be placed into teams, and your team will work together to blend five different single grape varietals (from barrel samples) into one red wine blend. Each team will utilize tasting mats and blending kits, along with graduated cylinders and pipettes to accomplish their blend.

Matt will be on hand to explain the basics (along with a video) and will help guide the teams through the necessary steps of creating a blended red wine. After his instruction, the experimentation will begin. When all teams have created their unique red wine blend, Matt will taste the teams' blends, and will award a winner and runner-up!

Check your calendar, and call to reserve your spots today. Seating is very limited!

Join us for a special, one night only tasting!

On Wednesday, February 16, 2011, Dry Creek Vineyard President Don Wallace, accompanied by his teenage daughter Taylor, along with several of Taylor’s classmates, will be at Martin Wine Cellars.  Don, Taylor and the rest of the group are in town on a special service project for Habitat for Humanity.  Helping to rebuild and restore lives in the New Orleans area post Hurricane Katrina, the group is taking a break from their hammers and saws to share a glass of wine (Taylor and friends can have water!) with our friends in the New Orleans area.

We hope you’ll be able to join the winery for this special event!

Dry Creek Vineyard Participates In Fifth Annual Healdsburg Crush Festival

Two days and two venues - October 12 and October 13, 2007

In its fifth year, the Healdsburg Crush Festival invites visitors to experience wine country at its harvest-time best alongside some of the area’s top winemakers and restaurateurs. This year’s event has been extended to two nights in mid-October in response to the prior two years’ sold-out attendance.

On Friday, October 12th, 2007 the historic, vineyard-encircled MacMurray Ranch, located in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, will be the dramatic setting for a sumptuous harvest dinner prepared by local chef/proprietors Duskie Estes and John Stewart of Zazu and Bovolo restaurants. Recently dubbed a "pork maniac" by the Wine Spectator, John Stewart will prepare an authentic pig roast, accompanied by fresh harvest fare, for a fabulous three-course dinner served with local wines.

Rare wine lots will be available for bidding on during the evening’s wine auction. The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m., and tickets are $200 per person.

On the following evening, Saturday, October 13th, 2007, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., 35 wineries and more than a dozen restaurants will gather under one roof for an evening of food and wine tasting in downtown Healdsburg, just one block east of the Plaza. Many winemakers will be on hand to discuss the 2007 growing season as they pour selections of hard to find wines. Raffle drawings, silent auction lots and buy-in parties round out the evening’s festivities. Tickets for the food and wine fair are $60 per person. For more information, click here to
visit the Healdsburg Crush Festival web site.
